Lacquering tunnel made of PP sheet material

Renson is one of the largest manufacturers of sun protection systems in Europe, producing sunshades and facade cladding for large projects such as hospitals, schools, care institutions, and apartment complexes.

Lacquering horizontal and vertical louvers

Renson produces horizontal and vertical louvers, part of which involves a lacquering process. The lacquering of the louvers is done through a so-called wet lacquer process, where liquid paint is sprayed onto the product. After applying the lacquer, it is important for the louvers to have time to release the solvent and harden.

Lacquering tunnels

Special lacquer lines, also known as lacquering tunnels, are needed for this wet lacquer process. In a lacquer line, the louvers are transported through the tunnel using a rail system. In the first section of the tunnel, the louvers are lacquered. The second section of the tunnel consists of a drying zone.

Lacquering tunnels fully made of plastic

For the construction of two new lacquering tunnels (140 meters long and 10 meters wide) for the Renson factory in Deinze, a solution entirely made of plastic was chosen. Both the floor (drip tray for safely collecting paint residues) and the walls of the tunnel are made entirely of PP-H sheet material. PP-H was chosen for its excellent chemical properties, good mechanical properties (strong, hard, easy to work with), and favorable price/quality ratio. The ventilation system of the lacquering tunnels is made entirely of PPs. PPs was chosen for its chemical resistance and self-extinguishing properties in case of fire.
