Corporate Responsibility
Sustainable management plays a very important role within Profilplast. We strive for a balance between people, the environment and society.
Through relevant initiatives, we make it our business to have a positive impact on our environment. ISO 26000 is an international guideline for corporate social responsibility (CSR). Profilplast adheres to these definitions, principles and core CSR issues and therefore intends to be certified for the CO2 Performance Ladder and the CSR Performance Ladder.
We support various local, national and international social projects through our Magenta for Life Foundation.
The environment is an important factor in sustainable and socially responsible business. For this reason, Profilplast has decided to permanently measure and reduce its CO2 footprint. The CO2 footprint is defined in 3 scopes. Scope I concerns Profilplast’s direct emissions, such as the company’s vehicle fleet. Scope II & III cover the indirect emissions. These indirect emissions include, for example, energy consumption and the recycling of waste.
The CO2 footprint is part of the CO2 Performance Ladder. The CO2 Performance Ladder consists of five steps and is a tool for companies to actively reduce CO2. The higher the rung on the ladder, the more efficiently the company cooperates with partners within the supply chain to reduce CO2.
Profilplast intends to be certified for the CO2 Performance Ladder and will thus be able to both document its CO2 emissions as well as actively reduce them. In line with our guiding principle PEOPLE, PLANET, PLASTICS, protecting the environment is a very high priority for us.
Internationally recognized standard for quality management that defines requirements for an effective quality management system. The standard aims to ensure customer satisfaction through continuous improvement of processes and compliance with legal requirements. Companies certified to ISO 9001 can demonstrate their quality and performance to customers and business partners.
Profilplast GmbH received ISO 9001 certification for the first time in 2022.
WASTE MANAGEMENT
As a technology trader with a strong focus on sustainability, our goal is to continuously improve the management of waste and recycling in all of our warehousing & logistics activities. We practice comprehensive waste separation to recycle materials as much as possible and conserve valuable resources. We work closely with our customers, suppliers and recycling partners to ensure that we maintain the highest standards of waste management and recycling. Through our measures, we actively contribute to climate protection and do our part to protect the environment.
Our measures to reduce waste at Profilplast include the following:
• Reuse of cardboard boxes and packaging material
• Reuse & recycling of wooden pallets
• Establishing circular delivery schemes with reusable packaging materials
• Consolidation of deliveries
• Reduction of printing & paper through digital documentation
• Raising awareness among our employees to avoid waste
Profilplast entrusts the disposal of any remaining waste to qualified recycling companies.
